Senior Graphics Engineer - North America

Scaleform Corp., the leading UI middleware company for the videogame industry, is looking for a talented and experienced graphics engineer. Scaleform is developing the world’s first multi-threaded general-purpose 2D vector graphics engine with 3D capabilities, targeting best possible performance and memory use on today PCs, consoles, mobile devices and future systems. Applicants for this position would be directly involved in the design and implementation of this engine, spearheading development of many of its subsystems.

We are looking for a self-motivated, proactive individual who has the experience and dedication to develop best-of-breed graphics technology. As a senior graphics engineer, you can expect to spend most of the time programming, but should also be willing to take a leadership role.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and polish 2D and 3D rendering features.
  • Produce clean, maintainable, well-documented code in adherence to internal standards
  • Analyze requirements, design, write, test and deploy highly functional code
  • Actively participate in team by making recommendations on how to improve product quality as well as group productivity
  • Profile, undertake performance-analysis, optimization and performance tuning
  • Keep up to date on current rendering trends including upcoming graphics-related technologies such as initiatives, protocols, techniques, and tools

Skills & Experience

  • In-depth knowledge of graphics programming APIs such as OpenGL and DirectX
  • Must be willing to learn new game development hardware
  • Must have excellent time, task, and resource organization skills due to the multiple platforms, systems and issues involved
  • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Expert C/C++ and math skills
  • Experience with multithreaded programming
  • Experience in rendering-related CPU and GPU optimization strategies
  • Ability to debug, profile and optimize code (memory/speed) to maximize the capabilities of each platform
  • Program in a methodical and structured manner
  • Expertise with major graphics platforms, consoles and APIs
  • Hands-on experience with shader programming in HLSL, GLSL or Cg
  • 4 years professional experience, game-industry preferred
  • Experience with console and cross-platform development
  • Motivated, self starter, creative thinker, ability to work alone or as part of a team
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Account Manager - North America

Scaleform, the leading provider of user interface (UI) software to the videogame and consumer electronic industries, is seeking a creative and motivated individual to spearhead our North American sales efforts. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to sell our leading-edge technology, Scaleform GFx, and drive revenues in a rapidly growing company. Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Greenbelt, Maryland, Scaleform maintains a global presence with staff in China, Japan and Korea and has been licensed in over 600 interactive software applications worldwide.

As the Account Manager of North America, you will be responsible for growing business by qualifying and converting inbound leads, identifying and prospecting new business, and managing our existing accounts and recurring business. The ideal candidate is well connected in the videogame industry, understands 3D/2D technology and videogame product development, has experience with sales negotiations and technology licensing, and is genuinely passionate about technology and the interactive entertainment industry.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain relationships with existing customer base
  • Identify prospects using creative lead generation techniques
  • Track leads, manage sales pipeline, and provide regular sales forecasts
  • Recommend effective marketing vehicles and press strategies to grow sales and assist in executing key programs with Scaleform management team
  • Provide customer feedback and market insight to Scaleform engineering and management teams to influence product development roadmap and maximize sales growth

Skills & Experience

  • Proven sales track record demonstrating strong growth
  • Strong knowledge of the video game industry and graphics applications markets
  • 4+ years sales in the technology/software or videogame industries
  • Experience working in a team environment and achieving results
  • General knowledge of Salesforce, Excel, Powerpoint and general web technologies
  • Effective and polished communication skills
  • 4-Year Degree with computer science, marketing or business field preferred

  • Position located at Scaleform headquarters in Greenbelt, MD - local candidates preferred. Will consider Los Angeles (and remote work arrangement) for the right candidate.
